Update on contents of first issue

The debut of the Southern Literary Messenger is now only a month away, and we are slowly rounding the contents of the first issue. The editor himself will provide an article on Bible manuscripts and English translations, reviews of "The Dionaea House" and Life at the Bottom, numerous other short reviews—and the first installment of a regular department called "Gleanings" which will scour magazines and internet alike for items of interest.

We also expect reviews of Lucifer's Court and The World Without Us, plus articles on American presidents, hunting, the outdoors, independent movie-making and the original Southern Literary Messenger.

Besides, there are one or two other surprises that we hope to have ready in time for the issue, but we will announce those as they are completed.

As for our contributors, we will announce them as we have mss. in hand. Suffice to say for now that we believe we have an excellent roster.

Of course, we are always accepting submissions and there is still plenty time to send us your work in time for inclusion in the first issue.
